Getting paid

How do my customers pay?

By PayNow. Each invoice has a QR code with the exact amount and the invoice number as the reference, so they scan it in their banking app and the details are filled in. You send the invoice as a link on WhatsApp or by email; there's nothing for them to install.

Do you take a cut of my payments?

No. PayNow goes from your customer's bank straight to your own UEN or mobile number. We never touch the money, so there's no percentage and no payout to wait for.

How do I know a customer has actually paid?

Check that the money has arrived in your bank account with the invoice number as the reference, then confirm it: the amount, method and date are already filled in from their “I've paid”. A screenshot from the customer isn't proof of payment on its own; the reference makes the match easy.

Can I take a deposit and then a balance?

Yes, that's what it's built for. Issue a deposit invoice, record the deposit when it arrives, then issue the final invoice: it works out the balance and makes a fresh QR for the exact amount. Part payments work too.

Who sends the reminders?

The system does. Polite emails go out before the due date, on the day and a few days after, with the invoice attached. They stop as soon as you record the payment. You can also share the pay link on WhatsApp with a message written for you.

Why not what I use now?

HitPay is free. Why would I pay for this?

HitPay is a good payment gateway, but it takes a percentage of every PayNow payment. Here, PayNow goes straight to your bank with no fee, so for businesses collecting larger amounts the subscription can cost less than the fees it replaces. It also does what a payment link doesn't: deposit and balance on one job, reminders that stop when paid, deposit terms your customer accepts, and a record of who owes what.

Why not just use Excel and WhatsApp?

You can bring your spreadsheet with you, and your customers stay on WhatsApp. What changes is that invoices, payments and reminders live in one place, so you're not scrolling back through chats at night to work out who's paid.

Is this accounting software like Xero?

No. Lunas is about getting paid: quotes, deposits, balances, reminders and receipts. If you have an accountant, export your invoices and payments as CSV for them.

Your data

Where is my data kept?

In Singapore. Each business's records are kept separate from every other business's by the database itself, not just by the app.

What about PDPA?

Your customers' details are yours. We process them only to run the service for you, and we don't sell or share them. See our privacy policy and data processing agreement for the details.

Can I get my data out?

Any time. Export customers, orders, invoices and payments as CSV from Settings. There's no exit fee.

What happens if I stop paying?

Your account becomes read-only: you can still sign in, see everything and export it. Nothing is deleted unless you ask us to close your account.

Pricing and setup

How much does it cost?

S$59 a month or S$590 a year. Founding members pay S$39 a month or S$390 a year, locked for as long as they stay subscribed. Every account starts with a 30-day free trial, no card needed.

Is it hard to set up?

A few minutes: your business details, PayNow, and how you want your invoices to look. You can drop in an Excel or Google Sheets file of your customers and past orders. Founding members get the setup done with them.

Do I need to be GST-registered?

No. If you're not registered, your invoices won't show GST. If you are, they're titled Tax Invoice and show your GST registration number and the GST amount.
